Fiona Lee

Fiona Lee is the Managing Director of Safe-guarding.co, the safeguarding training and consultancy company.  Fiona has over 25 years + of experience in safeguarding children and adults working with clients in the private, public and voluntary sectors across the UK.

She is a highly qualified trainer supported by associates who are specialists in safeguarding children and adults in Health, Education, Social Care and the Police.  Since starting her own business in 2015, she has written and delivered a wide variety of safeguarding children and adult courses across the UK to a huge variety of agencies, inclusive of health, education, police, charities, volunteer sector, sports associations, Foster care agencies, safeguarding Children Boards, Safeguarding Adults Boards, Housing Associations, etc.  She has also provided consultancy advice to companies including of reviewing and writing safeguarding policies and procedures.

With a background in policing as Detective Constable, General CID and also HQ Trainer and Child Protection Team Member, Fiona’s training provides clients with everyday cases and scenarios in order to correlate theory-based learning with practical, relatable content.

John Trott

John Trott is an associate of Safe-guarding.co. John is an experienced Domestic Abuse Homicide Review Chair, Child Learning Panel Review Chair, member of the HMIC National Working Group for Domestic Abuse, and the Brighton and Hove MARAC.

He is an experienced investigator having served as a detective within Devon and Cornwall Police for 28 years, retiring as a Detective Chief Inspector in charge of the Cornwall Public Protection Unit. During that time he was responsible for the prevention and investigation of domestic abuse, sexual abuse, child, and safeguarding adult abuse. He was the Force Lead for Domestic Abuse, Stalking, Forced Marriage, Honour Based Abuse, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), Safeguarding Adults at Risk and a member of the Local Safeguarding Children Board and Safeguarding Adults Board.

John is an accredited Senior Investigating Officer thereby enabling him to lead serious investigations up to and including homicide. He is also an accredited Interview Advisor and also an experienced Hostage and Crisis Negotiator and Coordinator.
